Location
I am going to be filming my opening to my thriller in my house for the main scene but i will also be filming some of it on the street and ina car park which i will need to write to the council and ask their permission to film on that street. I will also need to compose a letter to the owner of my house and get their permission to film in the house for my main scene. I chose these locations because i know that at all times when i need to film they will be free and avaliable to use which is good because then the continuity of the video will not be affected by filming in different locations when they are meant to be the same. Also i think these places will build suspense in my film because their is an alleyway towards the bottom of the street which i think will be good for my opening of the thriller.
Storyboarding
I am now working on my own for the actual thriller production and today i started on my storyboard for it and i came up with the idea that i should have a hitman who is payed to kill someone but the identity of the killer is still unknown and you follow the man who is going to be killed round as he talks with a friend about he thinks he is being followed but his friend just thinks he is going crazy and dismisses his claim for sympathy and help.
The first shot i think should be 2 hands shaking and exchanging money and a envelope which the audience do not know what is inside until the envelope is opened in the mans car and shown to the audience that there is a picture in their.

He then procedes to follow the victim to try and find the best way to murder him without being found out and this is where the suspense builds up in the opening because the audience don't exactly know who he is trying to kill but in the end there is a oppurtunity to kill him that is taken but there is a twist at the end which i am not going to tell anyone to make it more of a surprise when it happens in my film.

I made my thriller similar to the way Alfred Hitchcock made his films because he is my Auteur that i studied before i started my work on my production. The way that i made my thriller similar to his is that i am going to have a twist at the end of the opening that is synonymous to his films, the other things that make his films his own i cannot fit all of them in my opening because i do not have the time avaliable to me beacuse i am only doing an opening scene from a thriller.

Preliminary task
Today i started on my preliminary task which i did with my partner Killian. We had a few problems because we didn't get much filming done and the second time we tried to use the same location it was being used which meant we had to do part of our preliminary in a different room which in my opinion affected the continuity of the video that we made. I also think that the storyline we did was quite difficult for people to understand because it was quite complex. I do think that the way that me and Killian edited it made the video very tense in places for example the part of the video where the heartbeat comes in before he opens the door which i think built suspnese very well. I also think that if i had to do the task again then i would do more of the filming because Killian did most of the filming and i think that i could of offered a different skill set to him which may have made the video more succesfull for both of us.
The storyline for our Preliminary was that we had man who had killed his wife but the audience don't know this and he is having a conversation with his other personality becasue it has split into a good personality and a bad personality.
The preliminary also taught me that there were some shots and editing techniques that I maybe wanted to use in my actual thriller that were not possible and that I would have to find a way round them to get a similar sort of thing in my thriller.
